Mauritius (Republic of Mauritius, République de Maurice)
Island country in East Africa. Located in the south-western Indian Ocean, about 900 miles east of Madagascar. The Republic includes the islands of Mauritius (the largest 1865 sq km) and Rodrigues (104 sq km), refers to the archipelago of the Mascarene Islands, as well as the archipelago of Cargados Carajos, Agalega Islands and many other small islands.
