Zambia is located in the south-eastern part of Africa, has no outlet to the ocean. It shares borders with the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia to the south, Angola to the west.

The country's territory is 752 614 km². 

Most of the country is located on a hilly plateau, lowering to the south. Areas of elevated terrain include the famous Copper Belt and picturesque plateau Nyika on the border with Malawi, which is the highest point in the country - Mvanda peak (2,150 m).
